Traction is a post surgical technique used to regain normal length and allingment of bone. Penis traction manufacturers have basically copied this technique, and clinical trials have proven the technique can work. The University of Turin completed a study which was published in the British Urology Journal. There have been other studies here. The penis traction devices all work on the same principal, and the main manufacturers are: Sizegenetics, Andromedical, JES and MaleEdge, very little seperates the actual designs from the various manufactures, however it should be noted that the Sizegenetics and Andromedical models were invented and developed by Doctors with many years experience in Urology. The penis is placed into the device and more and more force is added to the penis to stretch it without causing pain, the user continues to add more gradual force until the desired length is acheived, however all manufacturers claim a maximum of 3-4 inches gained, so they admit there is probably a limit for how much stretching a penis can take. A recent study of 31 men, with a mean baseline stretched penile length of 12 cm, showed that with daily use of an extender system for 3 h, by 3 months there was a mean stretched length of 13 cm with a further increase to 13.8 cm by 6 months. Changes were also seen in penile diameter. There was a good correlation between the duration of use of the device and increase in length, and 80% of patients were happy with the outcome. source Penile size and the ‘small penis syndrome’ Kevan R.
